Sections and rows matter..
When you're learning how to braid, I always say "start with half circles first". Its the fastest and takes less thought. when doing braids, you have to know how many rows is your jumbo, large, medium or small braids. Everyones sizing is different. So its a personal choice. Someones medium would be my small and so on and so forth. Its gravely important to get the hang of counting rows and knowing how many rows for what. As if you don't, you will end up braiding much longer than you should be. Everything is timing when it comes to braids. So if you're slow at doing mediums. Stick with large braids and master that. Once your speed is up, then slide into mediums. You also have to be very careful with larger heads, as this will throw your rows right off. You will wonder why its taking you so long doing your large. Because you know how fast it takes and realise this one is taking longer. Two things will be the culprit. One would be head size and the other hair thickness. I have finally buckled down and now charge extra for bigger head sizes and thicker hair. Because time is money, we have to eventually cave in and be realistic with our time. Someone asked me what do beginner braiders need to know?...You need to focus on the right install technique for you and to know your rows. Start from there and you will be on the right path. Take care, Beauties your comments also matter :)
